Why not?

I have been needing a bag to keep in my diaper bag for all the baby food paraphernalia. I decided to make one out of the fabric scraps from my pillows. I also used a zipper from off of one of big Enrique's old sweat shirts. This was my first attempt in ever making a bag but I thought it turned out alright.
You see....baby food

Then Enrique came upstairs and said he needed something to hold all his highlighters and pencils. Bing! I will make you one! Only he wouldn't let me use fun fabric on the outside so I snuck it in on the inside.

Cupcakes and what!?

So, being true to my blog name, I decided it was time I do some curtains. I guess these are not really curtains, more like window treatments but anyway here they are. I found a tutorial on Little Green Notebook on how to make pelmet boxes. It was cheap and easy. I think all together for all three windows it cost me $15.00. I figure $5.00 a window, can't beat that. You can find her tutorial here Little Green Notebook: Easy Pelmet Boxes

window before
other windows before
window after
And windows after. I just realized it looks a little junky that my blinds are uneven. Whoops, should have thought of that ahead of time.
And these pictures are not my final nursery photos. It is still in progress. I need to get decorations up on the walls and a mobile or something. I will post those later!

My little burrito!

My friend, Lindsay, gave me this pattern to make a "snuggler" or swaddle blanket or as we will call it in my family a burrito. It is was labeled a simple sewing pattern but if it weren't for my friend walking my through it, I don't think I could have figured it out. Maybe I am just incompetent, I don't know. All I know is it was not as simple as they claimed it to be. Now that I have done one, the next ones will go a lot faster. Anyway, I am excited to put little Enrique in his burrito! Here is a link to the pattern:

White Trash Tomato Plant

So, I went to buy one of those Topsy Turvy tomato plant things at Ace Hardware and the guy who worked there talked me out of it. He said he always makes his own and they work just fine. So I thought I would give it a go. I used an empty ice cream container, cut a hole in the bottom, put my plant in upside down and then filled it with soil. Now, we wait for the tomatoes.

Roman shade

Problem: people could see into our house
Solution: Roman shade
I love the pom pom trim on the bottom
This is what they look like all the way down.

I could have posted a tutorial on here but you should just check out the one I used. You can find it at Little Green Notebook: Make Shades Out of Mini Blinds

Pot holder

I made this pot holder with just scraps of fabric I had. To get this bird template, just google bird template and like 10 bird templates will come up. There are many other cute ones, I just like this one.
I lined the pocket part so that it would be soft to put your hand inside it (and cute of course!)
